Foundation Stage 3-5 sets out six learning areas which are:
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Communication, language and literacy
- Mathematical development
- Knowledge and understanding of the world
- Physical development
- Creative development
Each of these areas has a set of stepping stones that progress towards early learning goals, for which each of the Base Room Managers coordinate planned activities to help meet the diverse needs of each child, so that they are well prepared for when they start school. Learning is encouraged through play and includes activities to involve each area.
At the end of each day, you will receive a daily report that details the progress your child has achieved, what they have learnt, what they have eaten and drank, when they slept and any other important information that you may need.
A Key Worker will be dedicated to your child to encourage, support and develop their skills and ensure that records of development are kept and individual needs are met for you and your child!
We encourage parents to build relationships with all staff who are caring for your child as it not only makes it easier when covering for holidays, sickness and training days, but more importantly, will help to ensure that there is always a familiar face for you and your child.
Every child will receive a Birth to Five portfolio that celebrates their progress and achievements, and focuses on your child's early years both at Nursery and at home. The Key Worker will be involved in building the portfolio based on discussions, achievements and observations that are made by spending quality time with you and your child.
